Belarusian-Austrian economic forum in Vienna on 1 October

The Austrian Federal Economic Chamber is expected to host a Belarusian-Austrian economic forum on 1 October. The event has been organized in association with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Belarus in Austria, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.

Representatives of Austrian government agencies are expected to take part in the forum as well as representatives of private enterprises, commercial and consulting companies, banking and insurance structures, which are interested in advancing business with Belarus.

The Belarusian side will be represented by Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov and a delegation of Belarusian businessmen led by President of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov. The delegation includes representatives of several enterprises, banks, and consulting companies.

Member of the Board for Industry and Agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Sidorsky is expected to deliver a report to highlight cooperation opportunities in the Eurasian economic space at the plenary session of the forum.

Alexander Guryanov will present information about prospects of trade and economic cooperation with Belarus taking into account peculiarities of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space.

Apart from that, within the framework of the forum a business matchmaking session will be held for Austrian and Belarusian companies. Representatives of Belarusian business circles will visit the international manufacturing automation expo SMART Automation Austria 2013 as well as Austrian enterprises.

While in Vienna Alexander Guryanov is expected to meet with chairwoman of the Austrian part of the Belarusian-Austrian commission for trade and economic cooperation, Deputy Minister for Economy, Family and Youth of Austria Bernadette Gierlinger, head of section three (European Union and political and economic affairs) of the Austrian Foreign Ministry Werner Almhofer, top officials of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and representatives of Austrian business circles.
